Founded in 1971, the General Society of Works of Morocco quickly established its leadership. From its early years, it showcased the diversity of its expertise through perfectly managed major projects such as the elevation of the Safi canal or the Lalla Takerkoust dam, or the construction of the wholesale market in Rabat.
SGTM was entrusted with the most prestigious projects that marked Morocco's embrace of modernity: Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, corporate headquarters such as those of Royal Air Maroc and Banque Populaire, skyscrapers, luxury hotels, industrial sites, and several civil engineering lots for the Great Hassan II Mosque and the delicate urban arrangements of Casablanca.
This decade amplified the dynamics of success. New corporate headquarters, such as that of the Commercial Bank of Morocco and the General Directorate of Customs and Taxes, and exceptional buildings like the Technopark or the Twin Center towers. Major public facilities were then entrusted to it: Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane or the large Ait Messaoud hydraulic complex. SGTM also undertook its first major projects internationally, such as Al Ain Airport in the United Arab Emirates.
The 21st century began with the advent of the new reign and the tremendous economic momentum given to our country, particularly in large infrastructure policy. SGTM played an active part, participating in the construction of the large Tanger Med port, the port protection dam, the Marrakech Stadium, the Moulay El Hassan Bridge, the Morocco Mall, Casa Marina, numerous tourism projects, and the Maroc Telecom tower.
Since 2011, SGTM has become a recognized player on the African continent, with operations in Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Cameroon, thanks to major projects like dams or the recent Cocody Bay development project in Abidjan.
SGTM is an institution driven by a mindset, a standard of excellence, and an unwavering commitment to its clients, partners, and employees.
In a world in transition, infrastructure has become a matter of sovereignty, resilience, and competitiveness.
